■ YORIMICHI Exhibition／此次举办的“轶闻展
An art museum is not only a place where you can view many artworks, but also a place for intellectual exploration where you can learn about various histories and cultures through art appreciation. It is also a place where you can nurture your own sensitivity. However, it is still often perceived as “having a high barrier” and “requiring background knowledge to enjoy.”
The upcoming exhibition, YORIMICHI Exhibition: Various Topics to Broaden Your View of Art, embodies the wish of Teizo Morohashi (1934–2003), the founder of the Morohashi Museum of Modern Art, that he wanted children to have the opportunity to become more familiar with art. We are organizing exhibitions that make art accessible and enjoyable for various visitors—from art enthusiasts to those who find art difficult to understand or unfamiliar.
This exhibition will display works from our collection as well as masterpieces from art museums throughout Japan. We will present them from various angles, focusing not only on their artistic significance but also on the “anecdotes,” casual conversations and behind-the-scenes stories.
By looking at art’s historical trajectory with the episodes, techniques involved, and artists’ personalities, they can help the visitors share the richness, depth, and wonder of art, while providing opportunities to gain new perspectives and understanding of artworks. We hope that, as you freely explore the exhibition venues and enjoy encounters with artworks, you will discover your own YORIMICHI (detour) within the museum.

致辞
美术馆不仅可以欣赏到众多作品，还能通过作品欣赏，了解各种历史与文化情趣，是一个进行知识探索的场所，同时也是培养自身感性的空间。另一方面，人们当前普遍认为美术馆“门槛高”、“只有具备相关知识才能享受其中的韵味”。
此次举办的“轶闻展 ～拓宽美术视野的趣谈～”，秉承诸桥近代美术馆创始人诸桥廷藏（1934-2003）“希望孩子们能更亲近美术”的心愿，不仅面向美术爱好者人群，也欢迎对美术抱有抵触心理或对美术接触不多的朋友光临参观，旨在为广大观众带来一场可以轻松亲近、乐在其中的美术展览盛会。
本次展览中，不仅展出本馆藏品，还将展出国内其他美术馆的各种珍品。我们不仅关注作品本身，还聚焦于一些杂谈、幕后故事等各种“趣闻轶事”，从各种角度进行作品的读解。
通过了解美术的历史脉络、背后的故事与使用技巧以及作者的人格魅力，为大家营造共享艺术丰富性、深度与感动的场所，并有可能帮助大家获得欣赏作品的全新视角与理解。希望大家自由漫步于展厅、享受与作品的精彩邂逅，同时在美术馆这个空间中，发现属于自己的“轶闻之旅”。
